Ingredients

  • 225g flour
  • 55g butter
  • 25g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 150ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven at 220°c.

  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt and rub in the butter.

  3. Add sugar and milk. For a soft dough ball.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, spread the dough until it is around 2cm thick.

  5. Cut scones and place them on a baking tray. Brush with the beaten egg.

  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
